Lower Elementary Program

“It is necessary that the child teach themself, and then the success is great.”

Our Lower Elementary program consists of grades 1 through 3.

In Lower Elementary, students build on their understanding and learning of sensorial, mathematic, linguistic, artistic, and practical life skills. The passage from the Montessori Early Childhood program is a big leap for students, and we are purposeful in easing the transition. Our program focuses on hands-on learning for each student as they grow and develop at their own pace.

In our multi-age classrooms, students can lead, follow, and learn from one another while deepening their understanding and care of their work and their peers. With the freedom to move at their own pace, their mastery of soft and hard skills grows naturally. The constant collaboration and encouragement develops children who can cooperate with one another and solve problems together.

To encourage healthy growth, we understand the importance of safety and stability in the learning environment. As students develop socially and academically, they require sound structure and routine in their lives to make sense of their ever-changing world. Independence is a great power that must be firmly rooted in rich soil fertilized with integrity, kindness, gratitude, compassion, and hard work.
