Our story began in 1993

Wellington School is a privately run, independent school located on beautiful Whidbey Island. We offer Early Childhood through Grade 8 instruction to students using a Montessori based curriculum.

The Wellington experience begins in our traditional Early Childhood program and extends the Montessori philosophy and pedagogy into our grade school instruction.

Our school was founded as the Wellington Day School in 1993 by Elizabeth Itaya.
